University of Messina

University of Messina
The University of Messina is an Italian state university, established in 1548 by Pope Paul III and refounded in 1838 by Ferdinand II. It is a public institution endowed with autonomy, which inherits the cultural tradition of the ancient general Studium Messanense and renews it in scientific research and teaching, following the Mediterranean and European vocation of the city and the Strait area. Tradition and change at the centre of the Mediterranean: the University of Messina has always been characterized by the quality of research and teaching and by its international vocation.
